While preparing for Skate America, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, two-time reigning World Champions, held a press conference.

After the 2022 Olympics, they finally got their gold medals and celebrated their victory with family members in the Paris Olympics, in August 2024. Madison shared, "It was absolutely worth the wait. We feel so fortunate to have shared such a special moment with our team, but especially with our families, who couldn’t be there in Beijing."

They stayed in Paris for a few days, enjoying the atmosphere and attending track and field events. "We kept pinching ourselves because we were at the Summer Olympics receiving our gold medals," Evan said.

In this press conference, they confirmed their plans for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. Madison stated, "We’re headed for Milan. We’re still inspired and finding new things in our skating, and it feels great to keep improving." This marks a significant announcement for the pair, as they have now publicly committed to their Olympic journey, which will be Evan’s fifth and Madison’s fourth.

Their rhythm dance this season features a medley of music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, designed to highlight the evolution of dance. Madison, who designed their costumes, drew inspiration from Art Deco and its architecture. "And what could be more Art Deco than the Empire State Building with all its facets?" she said.

Their free dance has a jazz theme, with pieces such as Take Five by Dave Brubeck and Juju, a Japanese singer, as well as a track by Miles Davis. They explored the idea of "Lady Luck" and the American Dream. "We were inspired by Boston Worlds," said Evan.

Madison and Evan have also developed new lifts for their programs, continuing their tradition of creativity. "We put a lot of effort into creating new lifts, and we’ve got some exciting highlights that we’re looking forward to showing," said Madison.
